Chlorfenapyr, also known as chlorfenapyr, is an arylpyrrole compound that has gastric toxicity, certain contact action and systemic activity to pests; it is an insecticidal, acaricidal and nematicide successfully developed on the basis of dioxapyrromycin isolated from the metabolites of Streptomyces fungi. It has excellent control effect on borers, piercing-sucking mouthparts and harmful mites, and has a medium duration of effect. Its insecticidal mechanism is to block the oxidative phosphorylation of mitochondria.
Mite eye acts on the mitochondria of the cells in the pests, destroying the energy production process in the cells, causing the cells to fail, and eventually causing the death of the pests. Chlorenapyr has fast insecticidal speed and good effect, but its insecticidal spectrum is narrow and its duration of effect is short. Deltamethrin has a broad insecticidal spectrum and fast speed. The combination of the two, prevention plus treatment, not only has high efficacy, but also has a long lasting effect.
Features of Chlorfenapyr
1) Broad insecticidal spectrum. It has a remarkable effect on pests such as diamondback moth, beet armyworm, litura, cabbage caterpillar, leafminer, psyllid, whitefly, thrips, red spider and other pests of various vegetables, fields, fruit trees and other crops, and has a certain killing effect on scorpion and flea beetle.
2) Good quick effect. Chlorfenapyr has good permeability and systemic conductivity. It is compounded with deltamethrin. It can kill pests within 1 hour after application, and reach the peak of dead insects within 24 hours.
3) High efficacy and long lasting effect. The two are compounded, and the control effect is about 90% within 1-3 days after application, and the effect lasts for a long time. After 10 days of application, the drug effect can still be maintained at about 80%.
4) It is not easy to produce drug resistance. Deltamethrin and chlorfenapyr have different insecticidal mechanisms, and the mixture of the two is not easy to produce resistance.
Applications of Chlorfenapyr
A new type of pyrrole insecticide and acaricide. It has excellent control effect on boring, sucking and chewing pests and mites. It is more effective than cypermethrin and cyfluthrin, and its acaricidal activity is stronger than that of dicofol and tricyclic tin. Broad-spectrum insecticide and acaricide; both stomach toxicity and contact action; no cross-resistance with other insecticides; moderate residual activity on crops; selective systemic activity in nutrient solution through root absorption; moderate oral toxicity to mammals, low transdermal toxicity; low effective application rate (100g active ingredient/hm2). Its remarkable insecticidal and acaricidal activities and unique chemical structure have attracted widespread attention and attention.
How to use Chlorfenapyr
1) Melon crops are prone to phytotoxicity and are not recommended. If you don’t know how to distinguish, I suggest that all growers and friends don’t use vegetables with the word melon, including zucchini. In addition, it is not recommended to use chlorfenapyr at the seedling stage of cruciferous vegetables, such as cabbage.
2) When using chlorfenapyr in practice, remember that the amount is not enough, it really does not kill insects, and the resistance of pests to it has been very high in recent years, so everyone should at least use it according to the standards I mentioned above. These are the results of practice.
3) It is very easy for pests to develop resistance to chlorfenapyr, how easy is it? According to the production practice, the effect will be significantly reduced if it is used twice at most, so it must be used in rotation or compounded with other ingredients to spray.
4) Chlorfenapyr only kills adults and has no effect on killing eggs, so its duration is not long, and the second wave of pests will occur in about a week during the period of high pest incidence. Therefore, in actual use, it is recommended to use pyriproxyfen and lufenuron to kill eggs.
5) As for the use time of the insecticide chlorfenapyr, it is recommended to use it during the high-incidence period, which can quickly eliminate pests. If it is prevented, you can choose emamectin benzoate with lower cost. In addition, it must be used with ovicide during the high-incidence period, so that the duration of effect will be longer.
The mixing problem of chlorfenapyr
Chlorfenapyr should often be used in combination with other Insecticides to slow down the development of drug resistance and improve the control effect at the same time.
1 Compound of chlorfenapyr and emamectin benzoate
After being compounded with chlorfenapyr and emamectin benzoate, it can kill insects with a broad spectrum, and can control pests such as thrips, toon beetle, flea beetle, red spider, borer, corn borer, cabbage caterpillar and other pests on vegetables, fields, fruit trees and other crops.
Moreover, after the mixture of chlorfenapyr and emamectin benzoate has a long duration of efficacy, it is beneficial to reduce the frequency of application of the agent and reduce the cost of farmers' use.
Appropriate application period: In the 1-3 instar stage of pests, when the pest damage in the field is about 3%, the temperature is controlled at about 20-30 degrees, and the application effect is the best.
2 Mixture of chlorfenapyr and indoxacarb
The mixture of chlorfenapyr and indoxacarb can not only kill the pests quickly (the pests will stop eating immediately after contact with the Insecticide, and the pests will die within 3-4 days), but also maintain the efficacy for a long time, and it is relatively safe for crops.
The mixture of chlorfenapyr and indoxacarb can be used to control Lepidoptera pests, such as cotton bollworm, cabbage caterpillar of cruciferous crops, diamondback moth, beet armyworm, etc., especially against noctuid moth.
However, when these two agents are mixed, the effect on eggs is not good. If you want to kill both eggs and adults, you can use it together with lufenuron.
The best period of medication: In the middle and late stages of crop growth, when the pests are older or the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generations of pests are mixed, the medication effect is good.
3 Compound of chlorfenapyr and abamectin
Abamectin and chlorfenapyr have obvious synergies after being mixed, and have good control effects on highly resistant thrips, caterpillars, beet armyworms, chive maggots, leaf rollers, core borers (Chilorrhizae, Saniborer), and Spodoptera litura.
The best time to use it: in the middle and late stages of crop growth, when the temperature is low during the day, the effect is better. (When the temperature is lower than 22 degrees, the insecticidal activity of Abamectin is higher).
4 Mixed use of chlorfenapyr and other insecticides
In addition, chlorfenapyr can also be used in combination with thiamethoxam, bifenthrin, tefenozide, etc. to control thrips, diamondback moth and other pests.
